Stanier Institute Opinion Paper Contest 2011

The Stanier Institute/Institut Stanier, in partnership with the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors
(CIPHI), invites practicing certified Public Health Inspectors to submit a feature opinion paper – in English or French – offering ideas and suggestions that address any issue applied to the present day activities of Public Health Inspectors. The Stanier Institute awards $1000 for the opinion paper assessed to be the most interesting and original submission.

Gastroenteritis at a Staff Luncheon in Hamilton is an interactive learning module written by a team of public health inspectors. Based on a format developed by the United States Centers for Disease Control, the module uses an actual case study to take users through the fundamentals of outbreak investigation and management.

 

The module is both fun and instructive. As well, for CIPHI members, completion of the module counts for three professional development hours under the Informal Activity category of the Continuing Professional Competencies Program.
