  CIPHI Crest

National Salary Survey 2008

CIPHI is proud to present the third national salary survey. Dennis Persaud of the Ontario branch has been collecting data from across the country.

The survey can be downloaded below. The data is included in an MS-Excel spreadsheet, and these types of files don't always download properly. For that reason, we are offering the file both in the Excel format and compressed in a ZIP format. You may need to install software such as WinZip or StuffIt  to uncompress the file. If you're having problems, you can always send an e-mail to Mike (mike@ciphi.ca ) and he'll email you the MS-Excel spreadsheet.

We would like to qualify the information that we have collected and explain the oddities that will become apparent when you examine the data:

1. The demographics are based on the 2001 Census (Statistics Canada).

2. Fed/Prov PHI's, Senior PHI's & managers have provided information on their pays as well, however, we have not received enough info to create tables for those positions. I will incorporate them in the near future. For those providing this information, I require a description outlining their relationship to a standard PHI and how many staff they are responsible to.

3. We are missing data for Nova Scotia & Quebec. If you have any pull in these provinces, please ask them to provide their information to us.

4. Pay ranges (MIN,MAX) should reflect the range in pay for the entirety of your collective agreement. The Contract Expiry Date will qualify that pay range. Please do not provide us with your current year only, as it will make the upkeep of this document extremely difficult.

We encourage everyone to contact Dennis with corrections and updates. He can be contacted at salarysurvey@ciphi.ca.
