What's New

July 2010 - In a session held on July 28, 2010, the United Nations General Assembly voted to adopt a resolution declaring access to clean water and sanitation as fundamental human rights. This vote supports Policy Statement #6 adopted by the International Federation of Environmental Health of which CIPHI is a member. Unfortunately, the vote was not unanimous as there were notable abstentions from the vote including Canada. This opens up avenues of advocacy for both the IFEH and CIPHI to speak to the importance of clean water and sanitation for the health of all global citizens. • Competencies for Ongoing Development (PDF) - This document is the foundation for the CIPHI standard. The document is divided into two sections: an introduction explaining how to read the competencies and the competencies themselves. If you are unfamiliar with the competencies, we recommend you read through the introduction, otherwise feel free to skip to the Discipline Specific Competencies on page 20.
  • Professional Development Model (PDF) - The intention of this document is to provide sufficient details to facilitate the Steering Committee’s work and guide further preparation for the national-wide Communication Plan and consultation process scheduled for 2009.

June 2009 - CIPHI has developed a Frequently Asked Questions regarding the Member Service Center. Download it here.

February 2009 - CIPHI is pleased to announce the launch of the new CIPHI Member Service Centre.  The Member Service Centre is the on line environment where CIPHI members can now renew their membership with the convenience of an online payment option. As well, information concerning your career and continuing education can also be maintained and managed. In the coming months, we will be adding a conference registration module and other functionality. Unfortunately, the conference registration module will not be ready for this year's AEC in Kananaskis. It is our vision that the Member Service Centre will improve service to all our members and that it will enable CIPHI to analyze and aggregate workforce statistics like never before.

In order to access the Member Service Centre members will need to have a valid email address, your CIPHI certificate number and a credit card.  To start the membership registration process, go to http://www.ciphimember.ca and select ‘ need an account' .  Proceed with the easy to follow prompts to set up an account. If an application and payment for 2009 membership has already been sent, members will be receiving a series of emails, containing your username and a temporary password.
